Hong Kong Polytechnic University
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Poly U) was founded in 1937, with the mission of providing high quality education of an applied nature to meet the needs of a changing society. They are committed to equipping students with professional competency as well as maintaining a strong partnership with the business and industrial sectors.
Poly U has the largest student community among publicly funded universities in Hong Kong, with approximately 11,500 full-time and 5,000 part-time students. Poly U is the sole provider of full-time honors degree programs in the following areas in Hong Kong: design, engineering physics, fashion and textiles, medical laboratory science, international shipping and transport logistics, occupational therapy, optometry, physiotherapy, radiography and geo-informatics.
With a population of over 7 million, Hong Kong is one of the most dynamic and prosperous metropolitan cities in Asia. Hong Kong is at the center of the fashion industry and represents its future. It has some of the best shopping in the world, from gleaming malls to lively stalls in markets and city streets. Besides famous tourist destinations, and the spectacular night view from Victoria Peak, you will also find hill and mountain trails, beautiful beaches, traditional villages and heritage sites.
You can take courses in a variety of subjects from Applied Science and Textiles to Business to Engineering to Hotel and Tourism Management. See HKPU's Study Abroad site for more information.
Similar to Student Exchange, the Study Abroad can be one semester or one academic year. However, you will need to pay a tuition fee for your studies at PolyU and on-campus accommodation can only be offered subject to availability. There is a variety of off-campus accommodation to choose from and you can obtain more information from their Student Affairs Office (SAO).
