About the International Travel Registry

Cornell provides a secure registry system for faculty, staff, and students to record travel plans and contact information. It is a convenient, one-stop service to support emergency communications and give access to Cornell's emergency travel assistance coverage while abroad.

About ITART approval
Students traveling to elevated-risk countries require additional preparation & approval by the International Travel Advisory Response Team (ITART). Requests should be submitted 3-4 weeks before departure. Unless traveling with students, staff and faculty do not need to apply for ITART approval.

*Cornell-related business includes travel that is funded by Cornell University or for which Cornell credit is given.

Emergency Assistance Abroad

UHC Global Assistance provides emergency evacuation assistance, medical referrals worldwide, and can provide travel assistance in emergency situations available to all Cornell students, faculty and staff 50 miles away or more from Ithaca campus.


Seek care where you are immediately. Once you are at the medical facility:
Call UHC Global collect at 410-453-6330. Provide the Cornell ID number located on the UHC ID card.
UHC will evaluate the situation and will assist you. UHC will alert Cornell University.

ITART Review Countries

Travel to the countries listed below require additional review of safety and security protocols in place before they can be approved as Cornell Travel. Please allow 2-3 weeks for approval.

The International Travel Registry is not monitored or reviewed on a regular basis. The information collected will assist the University to communicate with you in the even of an urgent safety, security, or health incident or situation.
